7/3/2008 - Football Villanova University head football coach Andy Talley has been named the recipient of the Philadelphia Sports Congress Community Service Award. The award is presented to the individual, business or organization that has done the most to contribute to the quality of life in Philadelphia through sports. Talley receives the honor in recognition for his work with the National Bone Marrow Donor Program.
7/2/2008 - M. Basketball On Wednesday afternoon the BIG EAST announced the breakdown of men's basketball opponents. Villanova will meet Marquette, Providence and Syracuse at home and on the road as part of its 18-game league slate.
7/1/2008 - M. Track Bobby Curtis entered the U.S. Olympic Trials ranked 15th in the nation in the 5,000m. On Monday, June 30, Curtis crossed the finish line in 13:35.00 to finish sixth in the finals, just missing out on qualifying to the Olympics, as the top three runners advance.
6/19/2008 - Baseball For the second time in three years Villanova has had a player named to the ABCA All-East Region team as shortstop Derek Shunk received second team honors. The 2008 ABCA All-Region teams were announced this week.
